Kayla completed her Medical Coding & Billing certification in 2010 with Lincoln Technical Institute and was hired by a local medical billing/RCM company after completing her 6-week internship. She was immediately motivated by the mission of community health centers and quickly mastered the nuances that come with the FQHC billing world.

Throughout her career, Kayla successfully navigated many positions from entry-level biller to Director of Revenue Cycle Management. She even explored the IT side of healthcare working as a help desk technician! In her 10+ years working on the billing vendor side, she excelled in operations management, client satisfaction, system optimization, employee training and process development. She has worked with FQHCs in multiple states and is experienced with multiple PM systems (specializing in NextGen). Kayla enjoys utilizing her dynamic skillset to help other FQHCs enhance their revenue cycle by optimizing systems, developing strong processes and developing Billing Managers to full capacity of their roles.

Although Kayla and her family reside in New England, she is the only Patriots fan in the home! She loves the day-to-day chaos of her full house which consists of her husband, two sons, two dogs, two cats and a rabbit. A few of her interests are music, fried pickles, horror and game nights! She has yet to be defeated in Tetris…
